Redacted Digital Nomad Visa approval resolution for Dominican Sales Manager (Client Company in the United Arab Emirates)
Approval resolution shared as supporting evidence for this client outcome.

The Case & Challenge

The main applicant, a Dominican sales manager, applied for Spain’s Digital Nomad residence authorization with her spouse and minor child as dependents. She provides remote professional services to a company in the United Arab Emirates under an independent services agreement, rather than an employment contract.

Her duties include managing telesales and online sales, social media sales activities, sales-related content, brand promotion, customer engagement, lead generation, and regular sales reports. The company confirmed that these activities can be carried out entirely remotely using digital tools and expressly authorized her to work from Spain.

The Strategy & Solution

We submitted the main application electronically through UGE on July 28, 2026. The supporting file included her professional services agreement, remote-work authorization, company registration evidence, bank statements and income records, qualification and experience documentation, criminal record certificates, proof of entry into Spain, and a commitment to register as an autónomo in Spain.

The professional arrangement was documented as independent remote services. This distinction mattered when UGE later requested additional evidence of her self-employed status, alongside the company and criminal record documents.

The Requerimiento: Legalized Documents and Sworn Translations

UGE issued a requerimiento dated August 21, 2026, requesting three categories of documentation:

  • Company activity: an official company registration certificate or equivalent showing that the foreign company had carried out real and continuous activity for at least one year, with the required legalization and sworn Spanish translation.
  • Self-employment evidence: a self-employed worker certificate or equivalent, duly legalized and accompanied by a sworn Spanish translation.
  • Current criminal record certificates: certificates from the country or countries where she had lived during the previous two years, appropriately apostilled or diplomatically legalized and translated by a recognized sworn translator.

In a response dated August 25, 2026, we addressed each point with the corresponding company evidence, certificate of self-employed status or equivalent, and updated criminal record documentation. The response confirmed that the documents were accompanied by their applicable apostilles or legalizations and sworn Spanish translations.

The Outcome: Main Applicant and Family Approvals

The main applicant’s residence authorization was approved on August 31, 2026, the signing date recorded in the official signature report. Her authorization is valid until August 25, 2029. The approval date—not a date inferred from the permit’s expiry—is used as this story’s publication date.

Her spouse and minor child also received approvals. Their resolutions were signed on September 29, 2026 and recognize positive administrative silence, stating that the legal resolution period had elapsed. Both dependent authorizations are linked to the main applicant’s authorization and its August 25, 2029 expiry.

The spouse’s resolution also states that the corresponding visa must be obtained from the competent Spanish consulate for that authorization to take effect. The family’s next steps therefore depend on each person’s individual resolution, alongside the main applicant’s autónomo registration and the applicable residence-card procedures.

This case shows how a family application can progress through different decision paths: an express approval for the main applicant after a documentation request, and positive administrative silence certifications for the dependents. Responding to the precise document and legalization requirements helped bring the main application to a successful outcome. Each case is assessed individually, and this result does not guarantee approval in another application.
